Mailbox Maintenance an August Priority!

Helpful information on how to fix old mailbox post and mailbox

HAMPTON PARK COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION

Section 48.1 Page 45 of your HP Standards and Guidelines

Dear Hampton Park Neighbors:

Summer is flying by, and if you have not do so already it is time to take care of the first thing our neighbors and visitors see - our mailboxes!  Many mailboxes throughout Hampton Park are in need of attention. Over time, mailboxes may need a new coat of paint, replacement of mailboxes or post and or cosmetic touch ups. This especially true if our area receives harsh winter and summer weather.

No worries! Here are some solutions that will help address the issue fast and easy:

Hampton Park's Mailbox post were custom built and cannot be purchased in stores. If your not the handiest of man or a do it yourselfer hiring someone to replace your mailbox may be the best bet. The HOA recently used Robert Bayne (804) 275 – 3178 to replace the mail box at Festival House. You are not required to use his services. Call for estimate.

Hampton Park requires all mailboxes to be the same color and design. The post color is "Sand-dune" color #1072 exterior latex semi-gloss.  It is a Benjamin Moore paint. If you are strapped for time, Elizabeth Anderson, a resident of Hampton Park paints mailboxes for $15.00 and she can be reached at (804) 639-1927.

You are not required to use Benjamin Moore products. Lowes and Home Depot should be able to match the color with the name or sample. However, if the color does not match you will be required to correct it.

If Replacement mailboxes are needed they can be purchased at Lowes and Home Depot as well as most hardware stores. The goal is to purchase the exact mailbox but if you can’t, try to make sure it is as close as possible.

If you have any questions or concerns, contact me at 639-1701 or by email at hamptonparkmgr@verizon.net.

Sincerely,
