Our 6-12 year old camps will include two different American Girl Camps. Each week will feature 5 different American Girls in history.  The girls will have fun stepping back in time and making crafts, cooking, and playing games from the different eras in history. They will take place July 11-14 and August 8-12 from 1:00pm-4:00pm.

July  from 11-14 we will be having an American Girl camp for girls 6-12 years old. During this week of camp we will be studying the time periods of the American girls Kaya, Felicity, Josefina, Kirsten, and Addy. Your child does not have to have an American girl doll or even have read any of the books to enjoy this fun filled camp.

During Kaya's day we will make Native American shirts, make beads and create jewelry with them, and play an authentic Native American game. While studying Felicity's time period we will make fans and hats to use for our tea party. We will also prepare the food for the party and learn proper tea etiquette. While having our tea we will play the game Who Has the Ring. Pinch pots, corn husk dolls, weaving and games will all be a part of our learning about Josefina and her life. Kirsten's day will include making homemade butter and jelly, and decorating our "canning" jars. We will also make yarn dolls. Addy's day will include making homemade ice-cream, creating spool puppets, and playing the game hot and cold.

August 8-12 we will be having our second American Girl camp where we will get the opportunity to step back in time with five different American Girls. We will celebrate Christmas in true Victorian fashion with Samantha by making gingerbread men, Christmas ornaments, and Christmas cones. Rebecca grew up during WW1 as a Russian-Jewish American.  We will make nesting dolls, hallah bread, and act our way to our dreams. Kit, who grew up in the depression, planted victory gardens and had garden parties. We will explore the great depression by planting our own mini victory garden and having a garden party. With Molly we will show off her American Spirit by making bottle cap necklaces, play the bottle cap game and make a patriotic snack . Julie was a hippie so to celebrate the 60's we will make tye-dye shirts, a peace sign bag tag, a groovy bug, and tye-dye cupcakes.

If you are interested in signing your American girl up for this camp please email Missy Blackmore at or call me at 639-7152 and I will email you the form you need to fill out. Return the form with your payment of $130 (which includes the $30 supply fee) off at 15918 Hampton Glen Court. If you have any questions feel free to call me.
